How you’re backing Comic Relief
By playing The National Lottery you help fund thousands of life-changing initiatives and charities and, thanks to a new partnership with The Big Lottery Fund, Comic Relief is now one of them!
£5 million of lottery funding will be used along with £500,000 from public donations to Red Nose Day, to help some of the most deprived communities in Africa.
Grants that you help fund will improve the health of mothers, babies and children; and the lives of people living in urban slums.
“It’s great that we are working with Comic Relief. We are really pleased to be jointly supporting work that will make a massive difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world,” said Dawn Austwick, Chief Executive of lottery distributor the Big Lottery Fund.
So, we’d like to say a personal thank you to every one of our players for supporting this partnership that not only has a direct impact on disadvantaged communities, but will also help shape future charity work in this area.
