How FareShare is fighting hunger by tackling food waste
Every year, an estimated 5.8 million people in the UK struggle to pay for everyday essentials, such as food. At the same time, the food and drink industry wastes 3.9 million tonnes of food.
FareShare works by bringing the two together - by saving perfectly edible food that would otherwise go into landfill and taking it to independent charity partners who are able to make sure it gets to those in need. We went along to the FareShare Cymru warehouse, just outside Cardiff, to find out how Lottery Funding is helping change lives.
