The brightest lights from show business came together recently to celebrate the National Lottery Awards 2017, including our host and reigning Strictly Come Dancing champion, Ore Oduba.
The National Lottery Awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects. Lottery players, just like you, raise £30 million each week for projects across the UK.
Now in their 15th year, the Awards recognise the incredible difference Lottery-funded projects make to people, places and communities all across the UK through the 510,000 grants awarded since 1994.
There are seven categories, reflecting the different types of projects to benefit from National Lottery funding: Art, Education, Environment, Health, Heritage, Sport and Voluntary/Charity.
Dick Goodwin, Vice president of the Taxi Charity, winner of Best Voluntary Project in 2016 said, “Our Awards recognition has seen increased interest in what we do generally, more support from volunteers and supporters, together with increased donations. The award continues to send a great message to our veterans and charity family that people genuinely care about them.”
Come behind the scenes with us to hear what celebrities and winners alike had to say about the support you give by playing The National Lottery.
The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,200 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
