Sheena’s caravan dream comes true thanks to EuroMillions win

A new caravan enabling her family to have adventures in the Great Outdoors is top of Sheena Clayton’s shopping list after winning £110,304.60 on EuroMillions.

The lucky mum from Northallerton in North Yorkshire, who is married and has two sons aged nine and 11, can’t wait to hit the road and begin exploring the UK. Trips to Wales and the Scottish coast are already in the diary.

Sheena, 37, said, “A caravan is something we have always wanted as a family so we can go on lots of adventures with the boys. We had been saving up, but now we will be able to buy it straight away and start our adventures even sooner!

“We are currently drawing up a list of all of the places we would like to visit. It is so exciting – this win has created so many opportunities for us as a family it is just fabulous!”

Recounting her amazing win, Sheena, who works as a carer, said she almost missed out on The National Lottery EuroMillions draw held on Friday 22nd November 2024. Having finished a night shift on the morning of the draw, she had forgotten to buy her usual EuroMillions ticket.

She said, “It was only because one of my sons wanted something from the shop that I ventured out to Tesco. As I was paying I thought, ‘I can buy a ticket’. And I did! Thank goodness. I guess I owe this win to my son! If it wasn’t for him I would not have gone to Tesco and would not have bought a ticket for that evening’s draw!”

Sheena said she was still coming to terms with her big win which still “doesn’t feel real”. She said, “It is just surreal – I feel I am proof that winning The National Lottery does really happen – and happens to ordinary people like me! And that is why I wanted to share my incredible news!”

Describing her reaction when she realised she had won, Sheena said, “I just could not believe what I was seeing. I thought someone was just playing a joke on me – I went from screaming to crying to just feeling in total shock!”

As well as a new caravan, Sheena is going to buy a new sofa and is looking forward to the best family Christmas ever. She has no plans to reduce the hours she works at a residential care home, in fact, she went straight to work four hours after learning she was a EuroMillions winner.

She said, “I love my job and I love everyone I work with, so there was no way I wasn’t going into work. People rely on me!”
