Lucky numbers bank couple £4.5M
A retired couple who have played the same numbers for almost 20 years, saw their lucky six win big in the Lotto Quadruple Rollover draw.
Former welder, Denis Graham, and his wife Mary, a retired health care assistant, are now celebrating with a cheque for £4,570,887 tucked away in the bank.
Grandfather of three, Denis said, “We enjoy playing The National Lottery, but never thought we’d win a big, life-changing amount such as this. It still doesn’t feel quite real and I keep having to convince myself we’ve actually won!
Despite the shock of winning Mary says it’s a moment to savour, “It’s such a wonderful sensation, we plan to enjoy the feeling of winning while we decide what we’re going to do with the money. We decided to share the news of our win as we didn’t want to keep it a secret and we want people to know that it’s possible for normal hard working people like us to win.”
One thing that Denis and Mary are clear on when it comes to spending their winnings, is that they intend to look after their nearest and dearest. “We’ll certainly be treating our sons and grandchildren, we can now make sure they are secure for life. It’s such an amazing boost – I’ve been walking around with a huge smile on my face since we won.”
