Life changing

David told a passing cat about his Scratchcard win

David Knowles might have been in shock after revealing a £100,000 prize on his Money Spinner Scratchcard. That would certainly explain why he shared the amazing news with a local cat first. Most winners tell a friend or a loved one, rather than the friendly neighbourhood kitty.

David explained that once he saw how much he’d won, he put the scratchcard on the kitchen worktop and went about his day. He popped outside to do some gardening, and to explain his newfound bank balance to the nearest four-legged mammal.

He said, “The friendly neighbourhood cat popped over the fence while I was pruning and, needing to tell someone or something my crazy news, I whispered in his ear ‘I’ve just won £100,000’. I have to say, he didn’t look terribly impressed!”.

Eventually he decided to share his news with a human, letting his housemate in on his secret before the cat spilt the beans. David’s housemate recently celebrated his birthday too, so he included a couple of Money Spinner Scratchcards, along with a cheque, as a present.

David’s planning to have some fun with his win. As a Spurs fan, he’ll be spending some more time at White Hart Lane. He’s also considering treating some friends to Rugby World Cup tickets in Japan. The cat probably won’t be joining them.

A trip to Vegas is on the cards too, with David keen to see if his luck lasts. There are also plans to enjoy some live music – one of David’s other passions.

The rest of the money, David said, will be invested in an upcoming property development. We can only hope that he’ll be fitting a catflap, should he have any more important news he needs to share!
