Dan’s cooking up adventures after incredible Set For Life win

A kitchen company manager from Stockport is cooking up all sorts of exciting plans after scooping a Set For Life prize of £10,000 every month for a year.

Dan Cole, 32, has already put a family holiday on his wish list as well as a fun-filled garden play area for his daughter. He’s also planning some renovations to the family’s home and the devoted Manchester City fan is looking forward to attending some of the club’s away games.

First, though, he’s looking forward to an extra special Christmas thanks to his Set For Life windfall.

Dan said, “We bought our first house together a couple of years ago and are still working on the renovations to turn it into our dream home. We’ve been saving up to give the bathroom a makeover and set up a play area in the garden for our little girl, so it feels great being able to get on with that.

“We also want to see the world and we’ll be ticking off our wish list of places to visit. I really want to travel to America, and my partner wants to explore Europe, so we’re just figuring out where to go first!”

Dan couldn’t believe his eyes when he checked his emails and spotted a message from The National Lottery telling him he had a prize that had not been claimed.

He said, “I thought ‘this can’t be right!’ and rechecked everything again and again. I honestly couldn’t believe it when I saw how much I had won. I called The National Lottery straightaway to tell them I thought I’d won. At that point I already knew I had won, but I just wanted to hear someone else say it out loud as it didn’t seem real.

“When they told me I had definitely won, I wasn’t sure what to do. I thought about calling my partner to tell her, but decided I wanted to tell her face-to-face so waited until after work. Waiting to tell her was so difficult, but I’m glad I did because that feeling of telling her in person was the best feeling ever!”

Some of his work colleagues needed a little convincing when he told them he’d won an incredible National Lottery prize. He said, “They all looked at me like I was mad! I like to play the odd joke, so they didn’t believe me at first. I even had to prove that I’d actually won and now they’ve all started playing too!

“I guess it proves that it really can happen to anyone!”
