Set For Life win puts Steven in the mood for Christmas
Christmas has come early for a family man from Grangemouth who has scooped £10,000 a month for a year on The National Lottery Set For Life game.
Steven Dunbar, 37, is still coming to terms with the amazing prize he won with a Lucky Dip he bought on the National Lottery website.
He was getting ready for work at 6:30am when he read an email from The National Lottery informing him he had won a prize. He said, “I couldn’t believe it! You’re always hoping for good news, but you never really think it will happen to you.
“I ran straight through to the bedroom to get my partner, Rebecca, out of bed. She’s not usually a morning person, but I’ve never seen her move that fast!”
Steven then called his mum to tell her the good news. He said, “Everyone has been so happy for us – it really has brought a bit of hope and joy to everyone around us.”
Steven and his family were planning a quiet, low-key Christmas this year after experiencing a tough year. He said, “I just kept thinking, ‘give us a break’ – and then this happened!”
The idea of winning a monthly windfall is what drew Steven to Set For Life in the first place. Now he’s planning to take his 2 young daughters to Walt Disney World in Florida and possibly New York too.
He’s also considering a loft conversion to create his very own ‘man cave’. He joked, “And what better time to prove to Rebecca that it’s a good idea than during the World Cup when she’s sick of the football being on the TV every single day!”
