Sam's Set For Life-winning switch
Sometimes, it’s good to try something new. Just ask Sam Gray from Whitley Bay, who has won an amazing £10,000 every month for a year on The National Lottery Set For Life game.
Sam, 46, is a regular National Lottery player, but as a fan of Lucky Dip tickets she rarely selected her own numbers. She took a different approach to the Set For Life draw on 26th May 2022, using a set of numbers she had chosen and saved to her National Lottery online account 2 years ago, but rarely used.
Sam, who works in banking, said, “Something inside me told me to go with the numbers I’d picked for myself over 2 years ago. I just couldn’t believe it when I logged on to my National Lottery account to see that I’d won – it didn’t seem real at all. I left a very garbled voicemail for my partner asking him to call me back and then somehow tried to concentrate on work that afternoon, all the while still in shock!”
Sam intends to spend the next 12 months making some amazing memories. She plans to take her mum back to Pefkos, a beach resort on the eastern coast of Rhodes, where the family used to take holidays. And she will make a donation to the Greek dog shelter where she found her beloved pooch.
Sam said, “As a family, we had some amazing holidays in Rhodes and it holds a very special place in my heart, especially now that my dad is no longer with us. So, to be able to take my mum back there to relive some of those old memories and spend time together making new ones is incredible.”
Sam is also looking forward to learning to drive and hopes to get her own set of wheels.
