
Dazzling days out at National Lottery Open Week 2025
Want to explore the famous biomes at Eden Project or discover trapdoors and secret staircases at Castle Fraser in Inverurie? How about a trip back in time at Black Country Living Museum or a stroll through the legendary basalt stones at Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim?
Whatever your idea of a brilliant day out, we’ve got you covered during National Lottery Open Week 2025.
This year’s event runs from 15th – 23rd March. During Open Week 2025 you’ll be able to get free entry, discounts and special offers** at all sorts of attractions across the UK. From historic houses and castles to museums and art galleries, sporting venues and wildlife hotspots, there’s an Open Week 2025 attraction for everyone.
Many of the places taking part in Open Week 2025 have been supported by The National Lottery. Indeed, Open Week 2025 is our way of thanking you, our players, for the £30Million you help raise for Good Causes every week.
Here’s a taste of just some of the incredible days out available during Open Week 2025:
Explore the lush greenery, towering tropical trees, and vibrant plant life at Cornwall’s celebrated Eden Project (above) with free entry from 15th – 23rd March. For a family of four (two adults and two children under the age of 16), this could mean a biome-sized saving of £100.
Dover Castle is just one of the English Heritage sites offering free entry and tours on 22nd and 23rd March 2025. As well as its fascinating history, the castle boasts breathtaking views of the English Channel. Families (two adults and up to three children) could enjoy savings up to £59.90.
History buffs get half price entry to County Down’s stunning Hillsborough Castle (above) and Gardens or the iconic Tower of London and other Historic Royal Palaces sites. Depending which venue you choose, this could be a saving of between £30.30 to £53.20 for a family of four (two adults and two children).
Step back in time at Black Country Living Museum in Dudley (above), where you can immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and stories of England's Industrial Revolution free of charge on 20th March – that’s a saving of £26.95 per person!
Take to the skies or the high seas at Imperial War Museum Duxford and HMS Belfast, with a 2 for 1 entry that offers a saving of £40 for a family of four.
Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire is one of the fascinating National Trust sites taking part in Open Week 2025. Families save £55. Or get a taste of Roman life at Chedworth Roman Villa in the heart of the Cotswolds where you’ll save £35 on a family day out. Alternatively, stroll through the legendary basalt stones at Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim, Northern Ireland where families can save £37.50.
There are trapdoors and secret staircases to be found at Castle Fraser in Inverurie, just one of the National Trust for Scotland sites taking part in Open Week 2025. You can save £36.50 for a family visit between 15th – 18th March and 21st – 23rd March 2025.
Kids and adults can soar across the skyline at Glasgow Science Centre’s Planetarium, immerse themselves in hands-on exhibits or watch a movie on the huge IMAX screen. There’s free entry for a child with every adult ticket purchased between 15th – 16th and 19th –23rd March – a £23 discount off entry for a family of four.
Budding astronomers can enjoy half price entry to dome shows at Armagh Observatory and Planetarium in Northern Ireland between 15th – 23rd March. That’s a starry saving of £20 for a family of four.
Families looking to roam 1000-year-old Cardiff Castle can get 50 percent off tickets between 17th – 21st March, saving £42.50. Or why not take a backstage tour at Wales Millennium Centre (above) on 21st March, when 2 for 1 entry offers savings of £48.
